4 cups beef broth

2 cups carrots, chopped

2 cups potatoes, chopped (for roast)

1 tsp thyme

1 tsp rosemary

Salt and pepper to taste

4 large potatoes (for mashed potatoes)

½ cup milk

¼ cup butter
