For the cherry topping:
– 2 cups pitted cherries (fresh or canned)
– ¼ cup granulated sugar
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch
– 1 tablespoon water
– 1 teaspoon lemon juice
For garnish:
– Whipped cream
– Chocolate shavings
– Maraschino cherries
